The Real Purpose of Windows 11
The biggest competitor to Windows 8 right now is not Mac OS X or Linux. It’s Chrome OS. Chrome OS may be free, but that doesn’t make it free. The price you pay for a Chromebook is your privacy and your freedom from a proprietary environment that can lock you into a single platform. If Microsoft really wants to compete with Google, they need to bring back some of what made Windows 7 so popular—and that means offering users more control over their computers. A new version of Windows isn’t going to help Microsoft in any way if all it does is force users into an even more restrictive walled garden than before. We need an open source operating system like Linux instead of another closed-source operating system like Windows 11.

According to Microsoft, it is due to their continuous success in Windows 10. While Windows 8 was a disaster, Windows 10 has been received well by both users and critics alike. However, there are still many bugs that Microsoft wants to fix before they close up shop for good on Windows 10. The company plans to continue updating Windows 10 until at least 2023. The main reason behind continuing support for such an extended period of time is because of how successful Windows 10 has become. It’s not just about fixing bugs either; Microsoft also wants to ensure that developers have enough time to adjust their programs so they can work with whatever new features will be included in future updates of Windows 11.

Most people will tell you yes, but we have some reasons why you may not want to upgrade just yet. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider Windows 11 when it comes out! Even though most computer users are familiar with how to upgrade to a new version of Windows, I’m going to outline a quick tutorial just in case. To upgrade from one version of Windows to another, you need your product key for your previous version. In other words, if you currently have Windows 7, you will need your original product key from when you bought it in order to complete an upgrade.
What Features to Expect in the New OS
With only a few years left until Microsoft’s self-imposed deadline to release Windows 11, what features should we expect in the new operating system? Although no one knows exactly what new changes Microsoft has in store for its next operating system, some analysts have already made some educated guesses.
Will Security Issues Be Solved?
Windows 10 was designed as a service—something that Microsoft would continually update and evolve, much like they did with Office 365. The company already released two updates in its first year of service, one of which was meant to address an issue that could allow hackers to gain access to user information through a malicious Wi-Fi hotspot. That’s great, but what happens if a hacker manages to exploit an entirely new vulnerability after these patches are installed? Will Microsoft move fast enough?
What If Your Current Device Doesn’t Have All Requirements?
While Windows 10 is essentially compatible with most devices that run Windows 7 or later, there are a few requirements your machine must meet before you can enjoy all of Windows 10’s capabilities. The minimum system requirements include: 1GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 20GB hard drive space and a DirectX 9 graphics card. Some higher-end features require more robust hardware, so if you have an older device it may not be able to handle all of Windows 10’s newest features.
Other Important Things To Know About Windows 11
The key to understanding Windows 11 is going to be what version of Windows 10 is installed on a user’s computer. There are three versions: Home, Pro and Enterprise. If a person has a version of home installed on their computer, then they will still be eligible for an upgrade to Windows 11 once it’s available. The same goes for enterprise users, who will also qualify for an upgrade.
Some Key Advantages Microsoft Has Over Competitors
Microsoft has several advantages over competitors. The most obvious of these is their significant market share; Windows is currently running on roughly 94% of all desktop computers (in North America and Europe). Microsoft also has several competitive advantages, including: relatively high customer loyalty; a huge ecosystem for developers to target; and an incredibly successful integrated services business with services such as Office 365 and Xbox Live.
Some Problems with the Current Version of Windows
1. Windows 8.1 was great, but it also came with a few problems, one of which was that you could only really use it on touchscreen computers and not on traditional desktops or laptops.2. The upgrade option for Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 is a bit misleading, since most users will probably have to buy a new computer before they can actually upgrade from an older version of Windows to something like 8.1.3.
The Missing Piece in Microsoft’s Strategy
The bigger story with Windows 8 is that Microsoft failed to see how its own strategy would fail. For example, here’s how it described Windows 8 on its website when I wrote about it back in 2012: We are defining a new generation of computing and we call it Windows 8. It’s a bold re-imagining of personal computing.

Windows 10 was an impressive operating system that addressed many of our previous issues with Windows 8. However, it’s not a perfect solution, and it looks like Microsoft is set to address some of its downsides by releasing a free update. A slew of other announcements were made at Microsoft’s recent Build developer conference. These included new versions of Internet Explorer, Project Spartan, Windows 10 for phones and tablets, Microsoft Band and HoloLens. However, analysts are already predicting that these announcements will soon be lost in everyone’s news feeds.
