While some people might say that the Kardashians are on repeat because they appear in the media so often, I think it’s more accurate to say that we as viewers are putting them on repeat. We’re the ones who can’t get enough of their drama, their feuds, and their fashion. Kim Kardashian has claimed that her interest in her family’s show was always genuine, but she also admits to sometimes loving being able to watch herself.
A recent study done by researchers at Emory University shows that when someone watches something repeatedly, parts of the brain that control emotions react less intensely than before. The phenomenon is called desensitization or neural adaptation, and it happens with anything from pictures of food to images of violence. The brain literally begins looking for new information instead of continuing with what’s already been viewed.
Researchers have speculated for years about how this process could affect addiction behaviors like gambling or drinking alcohol, but these theories were largely dismissed until recently when scientists found a similar pattern in drug addicts.

We’re only a few episodes into the new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and already we’re seeing some familiar faces. One of those faces is Tristan Thompson, Khloe Kardashian’s ex and the father of her child. Thompson has made more than one appearance so far this season, but viewers are starting to wonder if it’s too much.
Maintaining a social media presence in order to build your personal brand can be difficult enough without having to promote other brands you may or may not agree with; for instance, Jenner’s recent post about hair extensions from BeautyBlender that was sponsored by the company. What do you think? Is there such thing as being overexposed on social media?
If you’re like most people, you’re probably sick of hearing about the Kardashians. But even if you can’t stand them, you have to admit that they’re good at staying in the spotlight. Whether it’s because of their reality show, their social media presence, or their high-profile relationships, there always seems to be something new going on with them. And honestly, if you want to stay up-to-date on pop culture news and gossip, watching one episode a day of Keeping Up With The Kardashians might not be such a bad idea. The problem is that many of us just aren’t willing to commit two hours every night for the past decade and counting. So what are we supposed to do? Fortunately for us–and all those who don’t want to hear about Kylie Jenner’s lips for the next year–there are plenty of other ways for us to get our fix without feeling guilty about binging too much!
In a world where we are constantly inundated with images of the rich and famous, it’s easy to become desensitized to the never-ending stream of celebrity news. But even I have to admit that I’m starting to feel a bit overwhelmed by the Kardashians. Whether it’s Kim’s latest nude selfie, Kylie’s lip kit launch, or Kendall’s fashion show walk-off, it seems like there’s always something new going on with this family.
