It’s hard to believe that Crash Landing on You was released twenty years ago, but as the classic film celebrates its anniversary we thought it would be fun to check in with the cast to see what they’re up to now. Yang Kyung-won Play as Pyo Chi-su

Yang Kyung-won played Pyo Chi-su, a South Korean fighter pilot whose plane was shot down by Northern forces during a mission to deliver food to his beleaguered countrymen. He was presumed dead for over 40 years, but resurfaced in 2005 as a North Korean war hero. Although he settled into an anonymous life with his wife and two children, his true identity was uncovered when his daughter sought treatment at a hospital for injuries sustained in a car accident. Yang said that he would give up being Pyo if it were possible; however, an impostor has appeared claiming to be him! In 2006, Yang ran for mayor of Incheon, losing by 3% of all votes cast.

Yoo Su-bin Play as Kim Ju-meok

Ju-meok has been described as being very calm and composed. After dealing with a number of shocking events, he knows that nothing is permanent in life. Ju-meok goes by himself to support Yoo Tae-jin and meets him when he was about to leap from a cliff after his unsuccessful love for Da-jung. Due to his past experience, Ju-meok is able to help Tae-jin overcome his frustrations and try again for another chance at love. He also helps Song Seung-heon recover from break up with Min Hyo Rin and guides her into finding her own answers rather than trying to give them directly.

Tang Jun-sang Play as Geum Eun-dong

After a successful run as Geum Eun-dong, Tang Jun-sang has gone back to acting in Taiwan. The actor most recently had an extended run in A Song to Remember (2017), a biopic of famed Taiwanese composer Xiao Yu that starred Ethan Juan and Amber An. The movie was based on Xiao’s life and received a Best Screenplay nomination at last year’s Golden Horse Awards. He will next be seen opposite Ko Tae-hee in Romance Island (2018).

Lee Shin-young Play as Park Kwang-beom

Lee Shin-young’s career took off after he played young Kang Sun-woo in I’m Sorry, I Love You. He then started landing leading roles in films and TV dramas such as What Happened in Bali, Tazza, and most recently, Radio Star. In 2006, Lee married Yoon Jin-seo. Their daughter was born in 2010. Lee announced his intention to retire from acting after his three-year mandatory military service starting in 2011. His last role was in MBC’s drama series  (2015). He is now an assistant coach for his old club Ulsan Hyundai FC.

Nam Kyung-eup [ko] Play as Yoon Jeung-pyeong

Yoon Jeung-pyeong is a married high school teacher and is also in charge of his class’ basketball team. After he initially acts coldly towards Joo Eun-jae, he later falls in love with her. He eventually gets into a car accident while trying to keep Joo Eun-jae safe from harm. As a result, he dies as she screams his name after losing consciousness. It’s later revealed that Yoon Ji-hyuk and Yoon Seok are actually brothers with mother being Mi-rae.

Bang Eun-jin Play as Han Jeong-yeon

Bang Eun-jin is a South Korean actress. After playing minor roles in various TV series, she made her breakthrough in 2009 with her role as Yoon So-jung in Pasta. Bang Eun-jin and Lee Jong-hyuk got married in 2012. Bang Eun-jin then had a son with Lee Jong-hyuk in 2014. After her marriage, she took a break from acting and focused on raising her family. In 2017, Bang Eun-jin returned to acting after 5 years of hiatus by appearing in Beating Again. Then she played as an antagonist for 4 episodes of drama Iris 2 as Kim Sang Joo’s daughter Choi Soo Mi; She was awarded Best Supporting Actress at KBS Drama Awards for her performance.

Choi Dae-hoon [ko] Play as Yoon Sae-jun

Choi is an actor, model and rapper. In 2017, he appeared in tvN’s romantic comedy series Suspicious Partner. In 2018, he starred in MBC’s action drama Bad Guys 2 and SBS’ legal thriller Lawless Lawyer. He also appeared in JTBC’s variety show Carefree Travelers, which achieved high viewership ratings throughout its run. Most recently, Choi starred in the web drama  (literal title) alongside Park Shin-hye. He is currently shooting for a new KBS2 romantic comedy series called ‘Ending Note’, which will be aired sometime during 2019.

Hwang Woo-seul-hye Play as Do Hye-ji

Hwang Woo-seul-hye is a South Korean actress. She began her career as a child actress in 1984, and starred in TV dramas like Friends (2001), Princess Hours (2006), Full House (2004) and Love Rain (2012). In 2013, she married her manager Kim Kwang Soo. In 2015, she gave birth to a baby girl named Go Hye Rim. In 2016, she also gave birth to a baby boy named Yeo Han. She will soon be starring in an upcoming JTBC drama Goodbye Dear Wife with Seo Hyun Jin and Lee Sung Kyung. The drama airs starting July 28 on JTBC every Fridays and Saturdays at 20:30 KST time slot.

Park Hyung-soo [ko] Play as Yoon Sae-hyung

The son of Yi-jung and Ji-hyuk, played by Park Hyung-soo. In his teenage years, he was portrayed as a quiet child. He and his family went to America after falling out with Yi-jung’s father, but returned to Korea in 2007 for revenge against Ji-hyuk. His side project is an indie band and he is preparing for a major debut with his bandmates.

Yoon Ji-min Play as Go Sang-ah

Yoon is currently starring in another drama titled Tomorrow Victory, playing a police officer. She was last seen in Jealousy Incarnate and The Producers. Since joining Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) in 2010, she has starred in I Need a Fairy, He’s Beautiful, Heaven’s Garden and Reply 1994. As for her other works, she appeared in Moon Embracing The Sun as Seo-jung alongside Kim Soo-hyun (who played Jung-woo), My Love Patzzi as a young Han Ji-won (played by Han Chae-young) and Yi San with Lee Joon-gi and Kim Yoo-mi.

Go Kyu-pil Play as Hong Chang-sik

Although he left Crash Landing due to scheduling conflicts, Go has continued to be a TV fixture through both his acting roles and variety show appearances. In 2008, he starred in MBC’s Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do (now known as Piano) with Moon Geun-young, which was a ratings hit. That same year, he also appeared in SBS’s All My Love and KBS2’s Seung-nyeo of Soul, where he earned praise for his comedic timing. He also hosted popular show How do they make it during that time period.

Lim Chul-soo [ko] Play as Park Su-chan

Lim remains active in Korean entertainment, most recently appearing in TV series Wedding Dress and Queen for 7 Days. He also made a brief appearance as himself in KBS2’s Dream High 2. As a vocalist, Lim has released several music albums to date. In 2013, he was appointed Korea Tourism Ambassador alongside Lee Min-woo and Son Dam-bi.

Jun Gook-hwan [ko] Play as Ri Chung-ryeol

Gook-hwan is still acting as a supporting actor in TV and film. Most recently, he had a guest appearance in Queen of Mystery 3. He’s also scheduled to star in a new drama called She Was Pretty with Ji Sung and Hwang Jung-eum. He continues to appear frequently in variety shows like Running Man.

Jung Ae-ri Play as Kim Yun-hui

After appearing in Crash Landing on You, Jung appeared in numerous TV dramas and movies. She gained fame for her performance as Choi Yu-jin in Athena: Goddess of War (2009), a thriller set during Korea’s late Joseon period, which reunited her with her Crash Landing co-star Park Si-hoo. The same year, she starred alongside Lee Min-ho and Kim Tae-hee in romantic comedy series Boys Over Flowers, where she played a popular heiress. She has since made special appearances on popular TV shows including Golden Bride (2012) and Gu Family Book (2013). Most recently, she has been cast as a lead actress in upcoming SBS drama series Kung-Fu Master.

Ha Seok-jin Play as Ri Mu-hyeok

Ha Seok-jin is most widely known for his work in Reply 1997. More recently, he was one of seven guests on Law of the Jungle and was a special MC for 2017 MAMA. He’s currently starring in JTBC’s . In 2018, Ha starred in MBC’s 50th anniversary drama The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and will star in JTBC’s upcoming drama My Wife Is Having an Affair This Week.

Jang Hye-jin Play as Ko Myeong-eun

Jang’s acting career continued with roles in My Wife Got Married (2007), My Unfortunate Boyfriend (2009) and Midas (2012). She was also a cast member of MBC’s variety show, Real Men. In 2016, she appeared in A Daughter Just Like You. Jang married football player Park Dong-won in January 2013. Their first child, son Hyun Min, was born in May 2014. The couple announced their divorce in October 2015.

Park Myung-hoon Play as Ko Myeong-seok

After working for two years at an advertising agency, Park became an actor. He has starred in several films and television series, including The Tunnel (2001), Forbidden Quest (2002), History of a Salaryman (2011) and I Am Sorry, I Love You (2012). Most recently, he played real-life North Korean spy Kim Seung-cheol in 2015 action comedy film The Spy Gone North. He is set to appear in another spy film titled One Line, which will mark his first project since getting married. It was previously reported that Park got married to non-celebrity Jo Yoon-hee over a year ago; however, it remains unknown whether or not they are still together.

Kim Sun-young Play as Na Wol-suk

Currently plays KBS 2 drama’s main female lead, starring opposite Lee Jin-wook. Currently playing Jumong (2005), Dae Jo Yeong (2007), and others. Kim Sun-young was also featured in OST for some of her dramas, she won MBC drama award for her leading role as Queen Dowager Yoon in 2007s Dae Jo Yeong. According to articles dating back 2010s, Kim is currently living a well deserved retirement with Lee Seung-hwan’s ex-husband at Han River area of Gyeonggi Province.

Kim Jung-nan Play as Ma Young-ae

Jung-nan graduated with a major in Theater and Film. After appearing in Moon Myung-joo’s The Reason I Can’t Find My Love, she appeared as a guest star in several dramas like Jumong and MBC’s Yellow Handkerchief. She also took part in various films such as Whispering Corridors (1998), A Married Woman (2006) and The Scandal (2007). In 2010, Jung-nan made her comeback to television via SBS’ Family Outing Season 2.
