MW2’s network
One of MW2’s biggest draws is its new multiplayer mode, called Spec Ops. Instead of just being thrown into a game with other people, players will be able to choose different missions and compete against others in objective-based matches. The more points you get during these matches, the higher your rank will become. And if you want to play competitively online, you can also set up custom servers with your own rules (the game comes with four pre-set modes). As if that wasn’t enough, Infinity Ward has confirmed that there are plans for two expansions post launch: one featuring zombies and another offering special effects.
MW2’s weapons
There’s no question that MW2 includes some of most innovative and memorable weapons ever to grace a CoD game. The entire collection is a dream come true for CoD fans and it’s almost impossible to not fall in love with one or two after spending just a little time with them. For example, I’m completely enamored with everything having to do with Black Ops, while you might find yourself favoring stuff like Flash Grenades and the Striker machine gun. A personal favorite? The Riot Shield – there’s just something about walking around looking like The Tank Man from Tiananmen Square that feels soooo good!
My thoughts on preordering
Personally, I think preordering games is a waste of money. Because of how game development works, it’s impossible to guarantee that games will live up to expectations and in reality you are just gambling on whether or not your $60 will be well spent. However, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 there are more reasons to preorder than normal. The first reason is simple nostalgia, as most gamers were introduced to multiplayer gaming with their favorite CoD title over 10 years ago. For many players CoD was their first online shooter experience and they have been anticipating another console release ever since then. The second reason is simply marketing momentum, if everyone else buys it why wouldn’t you?
Is Modern Warfare 2 a remake?
Some people believe that MW2 is just a remake of their previous game. This statement couldn’t be further from reality. While there are a lot of similarites between MW1 and MW2, there are also a huge number of differences. I don’t want to give away too much about what makes it different, but lets just say you have no reason to fear MW2 being just a rehash/remake of their previous game. A few examples
Is Modern Warfare 2 2022 a remake?
It’s not a remake, although it is based on a previous title. It does share some of that game’s traits, such as certain objectives and a couple of characters. But there are many new locations as well, and developer Infinity Ward has made some changes to core mechanics. The game focuses less on urban warfare than its predecessor, which means you won’t find yourself surrounded by skyscrapers; instead, you can expect to take part in more open-area combat. Don’t mistake that for MW2 being easy, though—this is still very much an online shooter that requires sharp reflexes and fast thinking.
Is COD Modern Warfare 2 free?
As a pre-release, there is no charge to play COD MW2; however, you will need a valid PSN account and internet connection. Once you have downloaded the game, there are optional in-game purchases that will allow you to buy extra content in COD MW2. That’s right…the first map pack is free.
