How does it feel to be nominated for multiple Canadian Screen Awards?
To be nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards is such an honour. It means that my work has been recognized by the Academy and I couldn’t be more excited. When I found out that I was nominated, it felt like all my hard work had finally paid off and that someone had validated me as an actor. Many fans felt some characters’ arcs didn’t get enough screen time, like Twyla. I agree because she was the most prominent character in season one but not in season two. In the first season, she has a lot of depth and is more than just the ditzy waitress at Café Tropical. She is dating Patrick Wheeler, who abuses her and forces her into prostitution to make money for him.
After Season 3 ends with you putting your name on Café Tropical, can fans expect more of that moving forward?
After the season 3 finale, fans are wondering if Twyla will own more of Café Tropical. According to Sarah Levy, she doesn’t know what lies in store for her character but she does know that Twyla will always be a waitress.

Tell me about working on your new film project, Surreal Estate.
I had a blast playing the ditzy, yet troubled waitress and later owner of Café Tropical, Twyla Sands. I loved that she was a bit of a klutz with a heart of gold, and I was happy to have the opportunity to show off my comedy skills. I also enjoyed getting the chance to play her in one of her earlier years as an awkward teenager who wants nothing more than to escape her small town life.

Sarah Levy, who plays the ditzy yet troubled Café Tropical waitress and later owner, Twyla Sands, is no stranger to acting. She has been in several movies and TV series before landing her role on Schitt’s Creek. Her most notable work was in SurrealEstate as Rhonda, a young woman with a traumatizing past that she cannot escape. Sarah Levy started off as an actress at a very young age – at just five years old she got her first agent for modeling jobs. It didn’t take long for her to get into acting too and start booking commercials!
