I am a biracial actor and I’ve always identified with the Japanese side of my heritage. For me, being part Japanese means that I can understand what life was like for people when they were forced into internment camps during World War II.

Kai grew up on a reservation and is proud to be Native American. He loves his culture and embraces it as a way of life. He was raised in a traditional setting, which he feels has given him the grounding and respect he needs to be successful in Hollywood. He is proud of his heritage, with Scottish ancestry from his father’s side and Japanese ancestry from his mother’s side, because it gives him an interesting perspective on both cultures.
