Who Is Phillip Mullings, Jr

You might recognize Phillip from another indie film that won everyone’s hearts at Sundance Film Festival 2015, Dope (2015). When asked about his role in Dope and if it differs from his character Cal in The Land: They’re both pretty chill guys, with one major difference—Cal is more devious than Malcolm! He has been acting since age 13 and is a very young up and coming actor on our radar. We look forward to seeing him shine in The Land and other roles to come!

Phillip Mullings, Jr. Play as Theo

My character is Cal’s eldest half-brother and one of his partners in crime. I mean good crime; he does not mess around with bad guys like his brother Cal does – he only wants to get away from his shady family history. His father is a big shot thief and con man who owns a bunch of companies and has lots of dirty money that he loves to hide so no one will know it is his;

especially if they are cops because cops always want to find where crooks have hidden their loot! So yes, my character really hates cops! It turns out there is a cop right under their noses…or it least seems that way after what happens in Episode 1!

An interview with Phillip Mullings, Jr.

The cast and crew of TV One’s newest series First Kill welcomed a new member to their family last week during filming of Season 1 in Atlanta, GA. Phillip Mullings Jr., who plays Cal Lightman’s (Simon Baker) oldest half-brother on First Kill was thrown into his first scene with veteran actor Simon Baker! Check out what he had to say about acting alongside one of his favorite actors and getting killed off in episode 3.

The story behind the actor

Actor Phillip James Mullings, Jr. is Cal’s oldest half-brother on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger. The series follows Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. As Tandy and Tyrone struggle to control their new powers, they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could destroy New Orleans – and quite possibly the world. After coming face-to-face with their destinies, Tandy and Tyrone must quickly learn that they are stronger when they work together — but their greatest challenge will be to save themselves from each other.

Character background and personality

Phillip Mullings, Jr., is best known for his roles in NCIS (2012) and Underground (2016). He plays Calvin’s eldest half-brother in a scene that gives audiences insight into who he is and how his personality may affect future events in Season 2 of The Strain. He describes Theo as a confident guy with aspirations to do things beyond where he’s from. This scene also demonstrates Cal’s concern for his brother and hints at issues they may face together if they reconnect after being apart for so long.

Film Analysis

First Kill is also a good chance to get to know Cal’s older half-brother, Theo (Phillip Mullings). Since he’s part of a much larger cast of characters, we don’t really get to know him well. That’s okay though because his personality isn’t what we see on screen anyway—it’s his actions that matter here and they make him easily one of Cal’s most interesting characters so far (which is saying something since there are already several notable players in her family). Sure, you have to sift through some melodrama to get there—but it is worth it.

Personal analysis and final thoughts

So much of Myq Kaplan’s podcast is about him talking to people that have had unique experiences and he tries to make it seem like anything is possible with hard work and determination. He talks a lot about getting out there or doing things that are out of your comfort zone because they will make you a better person even if they don’t work out exactly how you planned them. It seems like he learned a lot about being positive in life by working hard for his success and seeing what did and didn’t work for others so hopefully we can learn from him too!
