In the second episode of Master of None, The Thief, viewers are introduced to Belinda Lindsey, the resort’s kindly spa manager who develops a complicated relationship with Tanya, an African-American employee. We see her again in New York, I Love You as Abbi’s boss at the Soulstice Spa where she also manages every employee’s personal troubles as if they were her own.

An interview on her first role

Natasha Rothwell talks about her first role as Belinda Lindsey in The White Lotus. She discusses how she got the role, what the experience was like, and what she learned from it. Natasha also offers advice for aspiring actors. I would say be relentless with yourself, Natasha said. Keep pushing, keep striving. When asked if she’s ever been discouraged by auditioning or rejection, Natasha shared that sometimes the person on the other side of the table may not be feeling their best or they’re just having a bad day. If they don’t feel good that day then they’re not going to make a decision based on who you are, so you have to keep going and show up every time.

A few words about what it means to be of service

Service is about so much more than just taking care of others. It’s about making a difference in someone’s life, whether it’s through a kind word, a helpful action, or simply lending a listening ear. It’s an act of love, and it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do. Natasha Rothwell understands this better than anyone, and she brings that understanding to her role as Belinda Lindsey on The White Lotus. Over the course of six episodes, Belinda endures many challenges. In episode two, Tanya, she helps Tanya get over her ex-boyfriend; in episode four, Pema, she helps Pema rediscover herself after being sexually assaulted by a white man at the resort; and finally, in episode six Chin Su, she helps Chin Su confront what happened to him during his childhood sexual abuse.

Some favorite things about playing Belinda

I love playing Belinda because she is such a kind and caring person. She always goes out of her way to help others, and she has a great sense of humor. She’s also a great listener, and I feel like she really understands me. I think Natasha Rothwell does an amazing job portraying her. I especially loved when we had the scene where she and Tanya are discussing Tanya’s weight problem. It was so emotional for me! There were moments during filming that made me laugh or even cry with sadness. But it’s not all sadness; there are plenty of moments that make you want to cheer and yell go girl! And as difficult as it can be sometimes, I still want to keep going back in time and again because playing Belinda is just such a rewarding experience.

Why she wasn’t sure at first if she wanted to be an actor.

When Natasha Rothwell was first approached about the role of Belinda Lindsey on The White Lotus, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be an actor. She had just graduated from college and was working as a teacher. But after reading the script, she realized that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Not only was the role perfect for her, but it would also allow her to work with some of the best actors in the business.

Who plays Belinda in the White Lotus?

Who is Belinda Rothwell’s performance for?

Belinda Rothwell’s performance in The White Lotus is for those who appreciate a good character study. She brings a sense of realism to the role of Belinda Lindsey, the resort’s spa manager. Her scenes with Tanya are some of the most complicated and interesting in the film. Rothwell manages to convey a deep sense of humanity in her portrayal of Belinda, making her a truly memorable character. What I loved about Rothwell’s performance was how she really took time to develop this character. In one scene, she takes a shower while singing along to Proud Mary by Tina Turner.
