It was announced this week that Murray Bartlett will be departing his role as Armond on the hit Netflix series, Sense8 after filming the second season of the show (out June 8). Armond, or The Lotus Man as he is also known, has received a lot of flack from viewers who believe his character to be underdeveloped and perhaps even unnecessary to the story. However, I have an entirely different point of view about this character and about Mr. The White Lotus – A Tribute to Murray Bartlett

What Was it Like Working With Simon Baker?

It was amazing working with Simon Baker. He’s such a talented actor and director, and he really brought the character of Armond to life. I feel like I learned so much from him about the craft of acting. It has been such an honor for me to work alongside someone as brilliant as he is. The way he portrayed this character is something that will stay with me forever. Not only because it was my first film, but also because his performance is one that will make anyone who watches it empathize with what his character went through. It makes you want to change your lifestyle too when you see how talented Murray Bartlett is and how hardworking he must have been in order to get clean again.

What is it like working on set with Ed Westwick?

It’s been amazing getting to work with Ed Westwick on The White Lotus. He’s so talented and professional, and it’s been a great experience learning from him. He’s also really funny and down-to-earth, which makes working with him a lot of fun. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him. He was a total gentleman.

We only shared scenes for about 3 days, but he was always very respectful and accommodating towards me as his scene partner.

I think he does a great job portraying Armond as someone who is in recovery for addiction problems because Murray always looked like he was truly happy to be there on set at all times that we were shooting together.

One thing that I found most impressive about Murray is how hardworking he is! Murray always arrives on set early, ready to go and never complains or seems uninterested when shooting long hours in the sun during our outdoor shoots in Thailand (including during those insane monsoon storms).

How did you get involved in acting?

I always loved movies and TV shows growing up, and I knew that I wanted to be involved in some capacity. When I was in high school, I started taking acting classes and realized that this was something I was really passionate about. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of becoming an actor. It’s been a long and difficult road, but it’s been so worth it. I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love for a living.

What was your experience like working on American Crime Story: Versace?

It was an honor to work with such a talented and passionate cast and crew on American Crime Story: Versace. I was particularly impressed with Murray Bartlett’s performance as Armond, the manager of the White Lotus resort. He brought a level of authenticity to the role that was truly remarkable. It was an honor to be a part of this project and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Murray Bartlett.

American Crime Story offers audiences a glimpse into some of America’s most shocking and intriguing true crime cases. Their production has allowed me to portray some captivating characters in incredible narratives surrounding real-life events. Each script has provided me with new challenges, but they are all equally fascinating because they’re based on actual people and events that happened right here in America over recent decades.

If you were asked to return for another season of American Crime Story would you do it?: If I were asked back, yes absolutely! It is an amazing experience each time I get a chance to immerse myself in someone else’s life or world so richly imagined by Ryan Murphy and his writing team.

What can we expect from the second season of Ozark?

We can expect the second season of Ozark to be just as suspenseful and thrilling as the first. The writers have done a great job of creating a world that is both believable and fascinating, and I can’t wait to see what they do with it next. We can also expect to see more of Armond, the manager of the White Lotus resort and a recovering drug addict who has been clean for 5 years.
