Finding your calling can be difficult, especially when the pressures of your family’s business fall on your shoulders. That’s what happened to Pogo, portrayed by Aidan Gallagher in The Umbrella Academy’s alternative timeline, where he left the Sparrow Academy in 2014 after feeling disillusioned with his purpose in life. Fortunately, Pogo found his true calling as a tattoo artist, and soon, you too will find yours through these five steps to career success! Spoiler Alert

In Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, fans were left wondering about Pogo, who appeared to abandon his family and future in their hour of need. However, according to star Aidan Gallagher, Godley is doing well for himself. The character made it out of that timeline alive and seems to have found his true calling after leaving … in 2014! Yeah, what we mean is, he now works as a tattoo artist. Who knew?

Who Is Pogo?

He appeared on stage at Royal Court Theatre before joining Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe for The Place Beyond The Pines (2012). Some of his other film credits include Starred Up, Broken (2013), Daphne (2015) and Brotherhood (2015). In 2016 he will appear in Stephen Frears’ Florence Foster Jenkins alongside Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg.

What Makes Him Tick?

Godley is one of Hollywood’s most electric rising stars, but what makes him tick? It’s amazing how much you can learn about an actor from his or her IMDb page. When you look at Godley’s, it doesn’t seem like there are any big roles on his horizon. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be anything on his slate for quite some time. According to Wikipedia, he was one of Screen International magazine’s Stars of Tomorrow in 2012. He has played significant supporting roles in films such as Only Lovers Left Alive and Kill Your Friends and solidified himself as a legitimate actor.

We Are All Artists

According to Gerard Way (the man behind My Chemical Romance and DC’s new superhero series, The Umbrella Academy), we are all artists. It just depends on what medium you choose to express yourself with. Those who make art in unconventional ways, like his newest comic book character from The Umbrella Academy—who is an artist but makes art by tattooing people instead of paint and canvas—Way believes those are true artists. In fact, there’s a scene in one of my favorite episodes of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend where Greg tells Josh he should be tattooing himself instead of having it done professionally because that would be more true to himself as an artist.

Where To Watch/Netflix

For those who are in Australia, New Zealand and UK you can watch it on Netflix. For Americans: No word yet on when or if The Umbrella Academy will air in America, but if you’re curious about how comics translate to live action, here are some previous adaptations to stream. So wait for it if you can’t get your hands on one of nine volumes from Dark Horse Comics.
