About Her Role As Shelby
Her most recent film, End of the Road, had her coming face to face with Queen Latifah. She’s amazing, says Tabatha. When we were first filming together she was like ‘I don’t need any fake convos with you – I just want it to be real,’ adds Tabatha. ‘She has been my favorite person on set.’ In addition to Queen Latifah, Tabatha has also acted opposite Dan Stevens and Maika Monroe in The Guest. ‘They are both really cool people and have such distinct personalities,’ she says about Dan Stevens and Maika Monroe respectively.
Hair and Makeup
Tabatha’s hair is natural and relaxed. Their hairstyle for End of the Road was an angled bob with a hairline that comes across their forehead with volume on top. They wore false lashes and simple makeup consisting of a pink lip and peach undertones. The earrings they chose are cool, minimalistic studs with gold accents.
A few days ago I watched End of the Road with one of my favorite actors, Dan Stevens. In it, he plays a heartbreaking character struggling to come to terms with his upbringing and how toxic relationships can shape us into people we never wanted to be. As the film ended, I found myself tearing up and thinking about how much I love this actor for everything he does for his craft. He’s an artist through and through. We all want to be recognized for our work but there are so many times when you are too scared to step out from behind the scenes because it feels safer that way.
Finding Inspiration From The Script
Tabatha Shaun As Shelby discusses one small piece from the End of the Road script that resonated with them and what it means for their life. Shelby was left to push Lexie’s wheelchair around and wait for her to get better. The responsibility for a loved one is not something Tabatha knows too much about, but this part really gave them perspective on their own lives.
Prepping For The Shoot
We knew Tabatha was going to be great, but they were more than what we had bargained for! The energy on set was electric when they stepped up and into character. I would go out on a limb here and say that it was one of the most professional experiences I’ve ever been apart of! It’s not everyday that you get to work with someone who makes your job easier.
On Set + Post Production
End of the Road will be Tabatha’s fifth feature length film. Of her cast, Latifah was one she looked up to early on. I’ll never forget the first time I met Queen Latifah, Tabatha said, She was so sweet and complimentary, but still a total boss! She met a lot of other creatives on set too- filmmakers, camera assistants, and production designers.
