A Brief Look at the Trailer

The trailer starts with a voice-over from Mimir, the Norse god of knowledge. He talks about how Odin, the Allfather, had two sons: Thor and Loki. But there was another son, born to a giantess… and his name was Jörmungandr. The camera then pans to show Kratos – the game’s protagonist – walking through a snow-covered forest. He is bearded and wielding an axe. As he walks, he flashbacks to moments with his son Atreus. One scene shows Kratos teaching Atreus how to hunt; another shows the two of them fighting together against enemies. The trailer ends with Kratos and Atreus standing on the edge of a cliff, looking out at a vast body of water.

Let’s Explore Norse Mythology

As most fans know, the God of War series is based on Norse mythology. With the release of God of War: Ragnarök, we’ll finally get to see Kratos take on Odin and Thor. This game will be set after the events of 2018’s God of War, which saw Kratos kill Zeus and end the cycle of Greek mythology. In this new adventure, Kratos will have to face off against new enemies as well as some old ones. We can’t wait to see what this game has in store for us!
