The Backstory
While Seo Dan is a department store heiress, her true passion is music. However, because of her status and standing, she cannot pursue her dreams as a musician. After hearing a cellist at a concert while attending college, she quickly falls in love with it. On that same day, however, young Dan also meets Jeong-hyeok (Jung Jae-young), who becomes her fiancé by an arranged marriage between their parents. As a couple during dating days in college and later after marriage, Jeong-hyeok realizes that he has fallen out of love with Seo Dan because of his feelings for another woman but is still committed to his wedding vows until they graduate from college.

While she has been infatuated with Jeong-hyeok since they were children, she was discouraged from acting upon it due to social rank differences between them. She eventually becomes engaged to Jeong-hyeok against her will through a series of events involving financial problems within her family. Seo Ji-hye is portrayed by actress Park Seo-Yeon while her younger self is portrayed by actress Seo Ji-Hye.

She has been infatuated with Jeong-hyeok since childhood as they used to be playmates when they were younger and are engaged through an arranged marriage between their parents’ wishes, but due to misunderstandings while they were still young, their relationship was not known until now.
Personality Traits
There are a lot of characters that she has relationship with, but her main relationship is with Jeong-hyeok. She first meets him in his childhood and sees him as a playmate because they were both born into wealthy families. Her father got to know Jeong-hyeok’s mother and conspired with her to bring them together through an arranged marriage between their children, as he thought it would make good political sense. Seo-Dan and Jeong-hyeok’s father were friends when they were growing up so he was supportive of it.
Decision Making Ability
Park Seo-yeon’s performance as a music student left an impression on me. As I watched her perform cello pieces that she was truly passionate about, I could tell how much time and effort she put into perfecting her craft. She also appeared to have a good head for business when she taught some of the other students. For example, when Park Seo-yeon had an opportunity to earn $15 an hour as a cellist, she instead chose to play music at her friend Seo Ji-hye’s fashion show where they were each paid $100, but worked no more than two hours. From that moment forward, I knew that Park Seo-yeon was capable of making sound decisions and creating opportunities for herself while maintaining high standards.
Fear of Failure or Public Outcry
From a young age, Seo Dan was groomed to one day take over her father’s company. As she grew older, it became evident that she was not only business-minded and intelligent, but also possessed a natural aptitude for music as well as a deep love of it. Unfortunately, due to political issues between South Korea and its northern neighbor, Seo Dan’s wealthy family would have to leave everything behind for fear of government reprisal. Her eventual marriage with Jeong-hyeok would be part of an affianced deal that her father arranged with his potential South Korean business partner years before.
Role in the Drama
Seo Dan plays a supporting role as a love interest to Jeong-hyeok. She is portrayed as being very dutiful and obedient, more so than Hae-young, but she is not easily swayed by love. She helps Jeong-hyeok escape from China by taking him to her home country of North Korea, but when she discovers that Jeong-hyeok has feelings for Hae-young she decides to leave with him and does not return. Seo Da playes a small part in episode 1 where young Seodam meets Jang Hyun’s character for the first time during one of his concert performances.
Views on the Characters and Relationships
Seo Ji-hye as Seo Dan is a perfect actress, who has a good attitude. Park Seo-yeon as young Dan has lots of talent to become an actress and she has been appearing in lots of advertisements. She can do well with her strict appearance, her beautiful appearance and her unique appearance. Seo Ji-hye and Park Seo-yeon are very good friends at school which makes it easy for them to act together because they already know each other.
Relationship With Other Characters in the Storyline
The Beautiful Seo Dan is engaged to Ri Jeong-hyeok and had been best friends with another women named Park Seo-yeon. They are both best friends, but have their own independent lives outside of each other. Seo Ji-hye who plays as Seo Dan is a talented cellist who wants to travel abroad to study music. Throughout her life, she had been very close with her mother, but did not have a good relationship with her father, who seems to care more about having political power than being a parent. Since she was away studying music for most of her life ,she lost contact with Park Seio-yeon and quickly develops feelings for Ri Jeong-hyeok when they meet again as adults.
