The short answer to the question, What is PUBG? is that it’s an online multiplayer game with an emphasis on survival in an open-world environment. Players drop onto the map, gather gear and resources, and attempt to get the highest score by killing other players (and sometimes non-player characters), all without dying themselves. The future of gaming
If you’re not familiar with it, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a Battle Royale-style game in which 100 players jump from a plane onto an island and proceed to scavenge for weapons and other resources while killing each other. It’s addictive, it looks good, and it’s currently sitting on Steam with a 96% positive review rating (not bad). And now PUBG Corp. has decided to release an Xbox One version of their game.
What went wrong with Battle Royale Games?
There’s nothing wrong with Battle Royale games and PUBG in particular. But you may have heard that it has fallen out of favour somewhat recently with everyone swearing by Fortnite now. Well there are a few reasons for that, which we will explore here. Let’s take a look at what has happened over time.
Why does Fortnite stand out from others?
Fortnite is a pretty great game and has a lot of potential. Even though there are some flaws in it, these flaws will get patched up in due time. The reason why Fortnite stands out from other Battle Royale games such as PUBG and H1Z1, is because Fortnite just feels right. It’s way more fun to play than any other BR game I have played so far (including H1Z1). And that’s just my opinion.
How PUBG Can Stand Out
To become more than just a fad, PUBG needs to find a way to distinguish itself from other battle royale games on the market. Right now, it’s following in Fortnite’s footsteps by adding seasonal content. The next step will be establishing its own identity. This can come through cosmetics, like Fortnite and Overwatch do so well, or some sort of original gameplay feature that makes it feel different from other games in its genre.
How to make it better?
I think that PUBG should add a character from NIER. I am talking about Kaine.
