In spite of his strict parenting, Mohan truly loves and cares for his daughter. In the Season 1 finale, he brings home an expensive gift in hopes that it will make up for what he feels like he has failed her as a parent. However, when she tells him that she doesn’t want to be a doctor any more and instead wants to be an architect, he is unwilling to accept this decision even though she insists it’s what she really wants.
Eddie Liu Portrays Steve, Kamala’s boyfriend

Lily D. Moore is an American actress who has appeared in a number of films and television shows. She is best known for her role as Rebecca Hall-Yoshida on the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. Michael Badalucco is an American actor known for his role as Jimmy Berluti on The Practice. On Never Have I Ever, he plays Howard Gross, father to main character Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). He’s a loving but strict dad who is always pushing Devi to do her best. In one episode, he even makes her take a job at his company when she’s struggling to find a summer internship. Howard doesn’t want Devi going into law like him because it leads to people not trusting you, which can be isolating. But in spite of that, Howard tells her that if she really wants to go into law after graduating from high school then he’ll support her 100%.

His acting debut came at age three when he played a younger version of Alec Baldwin’s character in the movie Malice. Utkarsh Ambudkar Portrays Mr. Manish Kulkarni
Utkarsh Ambudkar is an American actor, rapper, and singer. He is best known for his role as Mindy Kaling’s brother Rishi on The Mindy Project. On Never Have I Ever, he plays Mr. Manish Kulkarni, Devi’s high school economics teacher. In addition to being a great teacher, Mr. Kulkarni is also a bit of a wild card. His students are never sure what they’re going to get when they walk into his classroom, but they know it will be entertaining. From rappelling off the ceiling in order to illustrate money falling out of one’s pockets, or getting all of his students involved in a synchronized dance routine at their prom – he is one cool guy who knows how to make learning fun.
P. J. Byrne Portrays Evan Safstrom
Evan is Paxton’s overbearing father who is always looking to set him up with a nice girl. He means well, but his meddling often gets in the way. You may recognize Byrne from his roles in The Wolf of Wall Street and Horrible Bosses. The Emmy Award-winning comedian first started his career as an actor on Saturday Night Live in 1990s, which he has been credited for since appearing on SNL until 2014. His stand-up comedy has also landed him spots on Late Night with David Letterman and Conan O’Brien as well as HBO’s Comic Relief special for Red Nose Day 2013.
John Mawson Portrays Dr. Elgin Peters
Dr. Elgin Peters is a widower and father to two teenage daughters, Devi and Kamala. He’s a bit overprotective, but only because he loves his girls so much. You’ll often see him giving Devi dating advice, even though she doesn’t always take it. John Mawson does an amazing job of portraying Dr. Peters, and you can’t help but root for him throughout the series.
Megan Suri Portrays Aneesa Qureshi
Aneesa Qureshi is one of Devi’s best friends. She’s confident, opinionated, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Aneesa is also a talented singer and was a member of the school choir. In addition to being a great friend, Aneesa is also a bit of a troublemaker which often gets her into trouble with her strict parents. Aneesa has a crush on James, who she always tries to impress. James is not interested in her though because he has feelings for Devi.

Anirudh Pisharody Portrays Nirdesh “Des”
Nirdesh Des is one of the recurring characters in the show. He is Anirudh Pisharody’s character and he is a student at Devi’s school. He is one of the boys that she has a crush on. In the show, he is shown to be a very talented musician. He is also a part of a band called Muddy Mangoes. The three other members are Rasheel (Dinesh Jadhav), Hrishikesh (Ashwin Kakade) and Nakul (Vikas Kanal). The four of them together form an amazing band.
In season 1, episode 6, we see him meeting Devi for the first time as she walks into her classroom. When she sees him for the first time, her heart does a backflip because he is so cute!

Markus Jorgensen Portrays Boris Koslov
Boris Koslov is a heartthrob. He’s also a bit of a rebel, which seems to be a running theme with him. He’s got a bad boy image, but he’s really just a big teddy bear. He’s one of the guest stars on Never Have I Ever and he appears in five episodes. He was born in Russia, but his family moved to Canada when he was young. He’s a really good singer and has won two Grammys. His favorite hobbies are writing music and playing guitar.
Markus Jorgensen is always ready for some fun, whether it’s singing or acting or hosting a radio show about bands from his hometown of Vancouver. Markus grew up on Vancouver Island where his father taught at an elementary school as well as being an author who wrote poetry.
Gilberto Ortiz Portrays Alex Gomez
Gilberto Ortiz joins the cast of Never Have I Ever in season 2 as Alex Gomez, a new student at Sherman Oaks High. Alex is a bit of a rebel, which immediately puts him at odds with Devi’s friend group. However, there’s more to Alex than meets the eye, and he quickly becomes an important part of Devi’s life. Gilberto grew up in Hollywood, CA and graduated from UCLA before pursuing his acting career. He has also starred on CW’s The Vampire Diaries as Tyler Lockwood since 2012.
Chelly Portrays Parvesh
Parvesh is Chelly’s overbearing but loving mother. She’s a typical Tiger Mom who wants nothing more than for her daughter to succeed. Chelly often finds herself at odds with her mother, but deep down she knows that Parvesh only wants what’s best for her. You can’t help but root for the two of them as they try to navigate their complicated relationship. We’re not sure how it will all play out but one thing’s for sure: we can’t wait to find out!
Peter James Smith Portrays Mr. Chan
Mr. Chan is Devi’s calculus teacher and potential love interest. He’s a bit older than her, but that doesn’t stop him from being charming AF. He’s also got some serious ~*daddy energy*~ going on. Some viewers have noted that he looks a bit like Keanu Reeves, and we can definitely see the resemblance! But unlike most teachers in YA books, he has a lot more screen time which makes us wonder if there will be an official relationship between them by the end of the season.
Kikéy Castillo Portrays Christina Harrison
Kikéy Castillo is an American actress who has appeared in a number of TV shows and movies. She’s best known for her role as Christina Harrison in the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. Kikéy has also appeared in episodes of Criminal Minds, The Fosters, and Switched at Birth. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to two military parents who served in Vietnam. Her father is Filipino-Chinese and her mother is Native Hawaiian-Filipino-Portuguese.

Atticus Shaffer Portrays a young man who participates in model UN
Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations that helps high school students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the UN itself. Atticus Shaffer played a young man who participated in model UN on an episode of Never Have I Ever. The series depicted his character’s goal to win first place at the National High School Model UN Conference as he went up against competitors from all over the country.
Iqbal Theba Portrays Aravind
Iqbal Theba is an American actor known for his roles as Principal Figgins on Glee and Aziz Ansari’s father on Master of None. He has also appeared in such films as The Terminal and Begum Jaan. Theba will be appearing as Aravind, Devi’s overbearing but lovable father, in Netflix’s upcoming series Never Have I Ever. He’s somebody who just wants what’s best for her daughter, says Theba. But he can come off a little more authoritative than he intends to.
Mark Collier Portrays Andy
Andy is Devi’s overbearing father who means well but can be a bit much. He’s always pushing Devi to do better and be her best self, even if it means making her life a little more difficult. He loves his daughter deeply and just wants what’s best for her. Andy is Devi’s (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) father who is a successful anesthesiologist. He’s loving and supportive, but also has high expectations for his daughter. In one episode, he expresses his disappointment that Devi hasn’t gone to medical school like he wanted her to. However, he eventually comes to accept that she’s following her own path.
Adriyah Marie Young Portrays Carley
Adriyah Marie Young is an American actress who is set to appear as Carley in the upcoming Netflix series Never Have I Ever. In addition to modeling, Gigi has also ventured into acting. She made her film debut in The An American Girl Story – Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas (2017) and also had a small role in Ocean’s Eight (2018). Gigi will be appearing as herself in an episode of Never Have I Ever.
Pooja Kumar Portrays Noor
Noor is Devi’s older cousin and best friend. She’s always been a bit of a wild child, but she’s fiercely loyal to her family and friends. She’s also not afraid to speak her mind, which sometimes gets her into trouble. In the show, she often finds herself acting as a voice of reason for Devi. Pooja has been recognized by Marie Claire India as one of their 2017 ‘Women To Watch’.

Andrew Tinpo Lee Portrays Paul Wong
Paul Wong is a popular student at Sherman Oaks High School. He’s captain of the varsity tennis team and is one of the top students in his class. He’s also one of the most popular guys at school. When he sets his sights on something, he usually gets it. In season one, Paul develops a crush on Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and asks her out on a date.
Sunit Gupta Portrays Karthik
Sunit Gupta is an up-and-coming Canadian actor. He’s best known for his work on the television series Never Have I Ever where he plays Karthik, a love interest for main character Devi. Gupta has also appeared in episodes of Private Eyes and Hindsight. When he’s not acting, Gupta enjoys playing tennis and hanging out with friends.
K.T. Thangavelu Portrays Charu
Charu is Devi’s father and a high-ranking cardiologist at Balaji Memorial Hospital. He is a loving and supportive father, but also has high expectations for his daughter. Thangavelu does an amazing job of portraying both sides of Charu’s character. When he’s being supportive, he doesn’t shy away from reminding her to take care of herself. And when he is frustrated with her over things like not living up to his expectations or disrespecting him in front of guests, it doesn’t feel out of character or inconsistent with how we’ve seen him before.
Deacon Philippe Portrays Parker
Deacon Philippe is an American actor who is known for his roles in the television series Teen Wolf and Devious Maids. He has also appeared in the films 21 Jump Street and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Philippe will be appearing as Parker, a new love interest for Devi, in season 2 of Never Have I Ever. It’s going to be really exciting to work with my friend Dominique again on a project where we both get to stretch our acting muscles in such different ways, he said. The new Netflix series Never Have I Ever is created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. The show is about an Indian-American teenager named Devi, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who is trying to navigate her sophomore year of high school. In every episode, they tell embarrassing stories from their lives and watch as one of them has to drink or do something (usually embarrassing) based on what they say. Netflix’s new series Never Have I Ever is set to premiere on April 27th. The show follows the life of Devi, a first generation Indian-American teenager, as she navigates high school. The series is produced by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. It stars Abigail Spencer, who plays Devi’s mother in the show.
