Chris Evans Portrays Lloyd Hansen

Lloyd Hansen is a former CIA operative who has been betrayed by the agency. He is now a gray man, a person who can blend in and is not easily noticed. Chris Evans brings the perfect mix of charm and intensity to the role, making Lloyd someone we root for even as he does some questionable things. Another standout performance is from Alison Williams (The Americans) as Cassie Devereaux, another ex-CIA agent who teams up with Lloyd.

A very high-tech chase ensues involving different types of vehicles – cars, trucks, motorcycles – all providing good fodder for adrenaline junkies and action lovers alike. There are also some clever plot twists that keep the story moving at a fast pace. When it comes to thrillers, I always enjoy seeing more women take on more prominent roles; the same goes for The Gray Man. While there are many strong male characters, it was refreshing to see women featured prominently as well: in addition to Cassie, there is also Annie Monroe (Sienna Miller), Evan Gregory’s assistant who also becomes his lover. And then there is Edwina Harper (Radha Mitchell), one of Lloyd’s team members. There are just so many amazing female characters!

Ana de Armas Portrays Dani Miranda

The movie stars Ana de Armas as Dani Miranda, a former CIA operative who is drawn into a global conspiracy. Fans of the novel will see her character portrayed in film almost exactly how she was written to be. I think the first time I saw my face in front of me, I had tears streaming down my face, said Ana de Armas. She looks so different than I look but at the same time there are still pieces that are very similar. Director Anthony Russo said he felt like they were able to capture  accurately because of their work with author Mark Greaney. The authorship informed our understanding and informed our decisions about what things we could play more broadly or more seriously.

Jessica Henwick Portrays Suzanne Brewer

Jessica Henwick will play the role of Suzanne Brewer in the upcoming adaptation of Mark Greaney’s novel The Gray Man. Henwick is best known for her roles in Game of Thrones and Iron Fist, and she is no stranger to the action genre. I’m excited to see her take on this new role and can’t wait to see what she brings to the table. In addition to Henwick, other cast members include Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Court Gentry (the titular character), Ryan Reynolds as Jason Bourne, Elizabeth Debicki as Nancy Hart, Ben Mendelsohn as Anton Jakovian and Robert Downey Jr. as Alexander Conklin. I cannot imagine a better cast for this film than what we have seen so far! All these actors have been in their fair share of great films over the years, so I am sure they will do an amazing job with bringing these characters to life.

The Russo brothers are also one of my favorite directors at the moment because they have done such a great job with everything they’ve touched over the years. My anticipation for The Gray Man has just skyrocketed after seeing that these two are going to be working together again!

So now we know who all the actors are going to be and that it is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, but who wrote it? Luckily, that answer came when Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely were announced as screenwriters.
