The Lincoln Lawyer, released in March 2011, stars Matthew McConaughey as Mick Haller and Marisa Tomei as his assistant, Frank Levin. No matter how much we plan, life happens to the best of us. I found this out the hard way when I watched my father die from an illness that could have been prevented if he had simply taken the right medication on time. But it was too late then, and the only thing I could do was watch his body deteriorate and try to deal with it as best as I could while doing what I could to take care of him and my mother, who also had her health issues, but thankfully not as severe as my dad’s.

She is most recognized for her role in Uninvited, where she played Tara Wilson and also co-starred with Jeff Daniels. Who Is Krista Warner
Behind every great actress is a good mom—or so says Hollywood legend. And, like so many actresses before her, Krista Warner turned to her own mother for help with her role in The Lincoln Lawyer. Not that she needed it. According to director Brad Furman (The Take), Krista fit perfectly into what we wanted when casting Hayley Haller, a young attorney who goes head-to-head with hotshot defense lawyer Mick Haller (Matthew McConaughey). As soon as we saw her audition tape, we knew that was our girl. So how did a non-actor like Krista land such an important role?

As a child, Hayley was always drawn to her father’s career. She always loved the thrill and excitement that came with being in court, even though she didn’t understand exactly what he did. She idolized him and wanted to be like him when she grew up;
now that her dream has finally come true, all she can think about is doing a good job for herself but also for him. In order to make sure she does a good job for herself first, though, she needs to learn from an expert so that in some small way she can do a good job by her dad. And who better than his best friend?
Growing up with an actress mother
Krista Warner grew up with a lot to live up to—not only does she have an Oscar-winning actress for a mother, but her older sister is also an actor. There’s a little pressure, says Krista. I was told not to do it [act] for a living because my mom had been very successful at it. So I don’t know if I can or if I will or what that looks like. My sister works really hard at it, but they were telling me not to follow in their footsteps… It was interesting growing up with all that pressure on me… I don’t think you can let it bother you, though… You just have to do your own thing.
How she likes being behind the camera
Sometimes, it’s not just cool to be behind it, but also to see what your parents do. It’s pretty fascinating when you look at how they work with actors and crew members on a film set. That said, I love being on set with my dad; he always tells me stories about working with other big stars like Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman or Martin Scorsese. I actually did a movie called Morning Glory recently where Martin Scorsese was one of my father’s co-stars. He was amazing! It was amazing watching him direct too. My dad is all about directing for me because he has worked with such incredible people throughout his career in Hollywood.
Her passion for photography
The Facebook page features beautiful shots of nature and Krista’s photography has developed over time. Her first photos are noticeably different from her more recent work. The colors are softer, her technique is more refined, and she’s mastered a light touch when it comes to photo editing. She also takes advantage of post-processing in some unique ways that really enhance her photos; for example, many pictures feature soft shadows behind subjects,
almost like there was a small window nearby letting sunlight in. In other words, if you saw these shots on Facebook or Instagram without knowing who took them you might not even realize it wasn’t a professional photographer doing all the work. And that says a lot about how talented she is at her craft!
Working with her father on The Lincoln Lawyer movie
In 2010, she appeared in a music video for singer Lyfe Jennings’ song, Tomorrow. She will next appear in The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) with Matthew McConaughey. After that, she’s slated to star in an ABC Family series called Switched at Birth. In addition to acting, you can catch her modeling on several blogs including J-14 Magazine and Just Jared Jr. (which features photos of her vacationing in Cabo San Lucas). In 2010, she also made appearances at Walt Disney World and Disneyland to promote their new show Fish Hooks . And although you probably haven’t heard about it yet, when Disney puts out its second edition of A Twist on Time , it will feature narration by her.
How she got started acting
When Krista was 14 years old, she attended a conference for young actors. At that time, she had been involved in community theater. The director of the conference informed her that if she wanted to act seriously, it would be better to find a talent agent who could get her more professional roles. She did so but was disappointed with some of her first auditions. After spending more time studying acting skills through videos and taking on-camera lessons, however, she decided to go back into auditioning professionally by herself.
Upcoming projects
In addition to her role in The Lincoln Lawyer, Warner also guest starred on an episode of CSI: NY (Perverted Justice) opposite Gary Sinise. Next year, she has two movies in post-production—Flutter with Sharon Stone and Rachel Sterling; and some film called Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, Part 2 . . . sure, that could be a movie about a serious book series. I guess? Until then you can catch her on Disney XD’s Zeke & Luther as Jodi Bishop—Liz Lemons’ mischievous younger sister. Zeke & Luther is currently airing its third season.

Krista Warner is an American actress known for her roles as Hayley Haller in the television series Mickey and Maggie’s daughter, and as a young Mickey in the film A Christmas Story. She says they were all so inspiring to her growing up. They have their own unique style, she explains. I love watching them in different films. We had to ask: What does Krista think about her dad, Mickey Mouse? I get teased a lot at school because I’m an actress and my dad’s Mickey Mouse, she admits with a laugh. But it’s cool because he’s like my security blanket. He’ll always be there for me, no matter what. And it’s funny because sometimes kids will come up to me and go Mickey Mouse! And I’ll say Hi! back. It’s really cute!
I always feel lucky when people tell me how much they like Disney movies or cartoons, Krista adds.
