I’ve been following Ms. Saladañas career since I watched her in Colombiana. She has shown herself to be a great actress who can take on many different roles. I loved that movie and was very impressed with Ms. Saladañas performance in it as she showed range and depth through her acting.

Zoe played a succubus called Neytiri in James Cameron’s film, Avatar (2009). She is also known for her roles in Deep Blue Sea (1999), The Terminal (2004), Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel. Comics and movies require different types of characters to be created, and each requires a slightly different skillset from their creators. This is one of those situations where Hollywood did an amazing job with casting: in comics, Gamora is green-skinned (and much more voluptuous), but on screen she was played by actress Zoe Saldana.

Gamora is a skilled warrior and an excellent marksman. She’s deadly with knives and weapons, but her mastery of martial arts means she can use her body as a weapon. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we see her throw down against Nebula in a hand-to-hand fight that leaves both women bloodied and bruised.
2) She isn’t afraid to speak her mind
She’s not one to back down from a fight or take someone else’s crap. She values her independence and will stand up for herself when she needs to. Her straightforward attitude has helped her navigate some of the most dangerous situations in space. When you’re dealing with intergalactic gangsters, it doesn’t hurt to have a blunt force weapon on your side! Plus, she has a great sense of humor, which makes her all that much more fun to watch.

Gamora may be deadly, but she’s also a total wisecracker. She makes sarcastic comments and snarky quips, making her one of Marvel’s funniest characters (which says a lot!). Just watch Guardians of the Galaxy to see for yourself. She’s relatable: We can all relate to Gamora on some level because we’ve all been scared in our lives. But, even though she’s just as scared as everyone else, she doesn’t let that stop her from doing what needs to be done or keep her from being able to help others. After all, it takes bravery and courage not only to face your fears but also use them for good instead of evil.

If we’re being honest, there are a lot of movies where love interests are introduced to add unnecessary conflict. Even though she lost her family at a young age, Gamora doesn’t let that define her. It may be difficult to let go of your past and move on, but it isn’t impossible. By learning to accept your past you can learn from it and not repeat mistakes. It may be hard at first but getting through that tough period of grief will make you a stronger person for it.
