Greetings from Paris! I’m so excited to announce that we’ve added Bruno Gouery to the cast of Emily in Paris! Best known as one half of comedy duo Bruno & Hugo (with his real-life partner Hugo Marchand), Bruno joins Emily and Julien as Luc, a French coworker who may at first seem like a real nerd, but who will undoubtedly grow on you by the end of the series. I recently sat down with Bruno to talk about what it was like joining the cast, and he shared some insight into his character Luc and how he got involved in acting in the first place! Who is Luc?
Luc is Emily’s quirky other co-worker, who he forms a humorous duo with Julien. I don’t know what it is about this guy, but he cracks me up every single time. If you’re anything like me, you’ll get hooked on him in no time. Luc may be from the south of France and his accent is to die for, but he has a very different personality than Julien.
How did you land this part?
I was so excited to be cast as Emily in Paris’ co-worker, Luc! I knew the show would be a great opportunity for me to explore how to play a character who is quirky and funny. I’m so grateful that the producers of Emily in Paris saw my potential, and now I get to make people laugh! In fact, I had no idea just how many episodes of this show there are going to be when we first started shooting – it’s been really fun working on all these episodes so far! The next episode will come out on November 17th, 2019. If you can’t wait until then to find out what happens next with Luc and his new friend Julianna… well then we’ve got good news!
What do you like most about your character?
Luc is a lot of fun and he teaches me about the French way of life. He’s always trying to figure out what I’m doing, but it never bothers me because I know he just wants to be helpful. There are many times that his curiosity gets us into some pretty funny situations. He’s also very patient with me when I try to speak French!
What do you think of the rest of the cast so far?
I love the cast! They are all so talented and they have great chemistry on screen. I especially love Bruno Gouery, who plays Emily’s quirky other co-worker, Luc. He has such a fun personality that you can’t help but smile when he is on screen.
What are some of your favorite scenes from season one?
Emily in Paris is one of my favorite shows to watch. I’ve laughed and cried while watching it. The first season was fantastic, with so many memorable scenes. Some of my favorites include the two-part finale where Emily finally tells Julien she loves him, and when Bruno Gouery as Luc meets his match in the form of Ashley.
Why should people tune in for season 2?
If you loved season 1, you’ll love season 2! There are even more laughs, surprises and beautiful scenery in store for viewers. Plus, Bruno is back as Luc and he’s a riot to watch. You don’t want to miss it! Bruno was so much fun to work with and really brings out the funniest sides of his character Luc on screen.
It was my first time working with him and I really liked that he plays such an offbeat, lovable character who is always up for having some good old-fashioned fun no matter what kind of trouble ensues.
I also appreciated how open Bruno was during our scenes together; it made my job easier because I knew we were going to be on the same page in every take.
