Facts About Black Adam Born in ancient Egypt as Teth-Adam, Black Adam was given powers by ancient gods as well as an evil blood curse. Originally, Teth-Adam was given these powers to fight on behalf of Egyptian pharaohs and maintain peace throughout their realm. However, following repeated attempts on his life from jealous human foes and treacherous supernatural ones alike, Teth-Adam was tricked into believing that mortals posed a greater threat than immortals and would always plot against him. Taking up permanent residence in what would become Kahndaq (located in modern day Saudi Arabia), he reigned as its dictator for many centuries until he finally encountered Fawcett City resident Billy Batson after being brought into modern times by mad scientist Dr. Sivana.

When he was imprisoned for his crimes, he remained in his tomb for millennia until he was freed in the modern day. Now, with his unique form of justice, he plans to take over the world. One day, a ruthless businessman named Theo Adam saves millions from starvation in Sudan. Wanting recognition for this great deed, Theo asks the media where he should donate some money. They don’t have an answer so Theo starts looking into it himself and comes across some corrupt government officials who are sending food supplies overseas to themselves. Incensed at this injustice, Theo does what any self-respecting businessman would do: He fires them on the spot! But this doesn’t solve the problem of all these starving people so Theo sends one million dollars every year thereafter.
