McCreary is set to return as series regular in Grey’s Anatomy Season 14. In a recurring role, she portrayed Dr. Amelia Shepherd who was Derek’s estranged sister and Owen’s ex-girlfriend. McCreary also portrayed Avery Jennings during Private Practice Season 6. She will play Maggie Pierce, Meredith’s half-sister.
