There are some actors who become synonymous with the characters they play. Ayo Edebiri might be one of those actors, now that she has played such iconic roles as Stella in the Broadway musical Fela!, Khadijah in the film Speechless, and Idia in the television show Twice In A Lifetime. Ayo Edebiri is Stella – Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between

Who Is Ayo Edebiri Play Role is Stella

Ayo Edebiri is an actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She is best known for her role as Missy on the Netflix original series Big Mouth. Ayo will be playing the role of Stella in the upcoming film Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between. We sat down with Ayo to talk about her role in the film and what it was like working with the cast and crew. I feel like I had a really good time doing this project. It was cool because I got to see some people that I’ve seen from other things and now we get to work together and make something beautiful. So far I think we’re doing that because all of the actors are amazing and just so talented!

The director…he had some very interesting ideas for me specifically which were kind of challenging but also really fun.

Why I Love This Role

I love this role because it allows me to explore a wide range of emotions. I can be funny one moment and serious the next. I also love the challenge of trying to make the character as relatable as possible. Stella is such a complex character and I enjoy exploring all her layers. As an actor, it’s always my goal to bring something new and exciting to every role. But with Stella, there’s so much there already! She was created by a team of writers who had clearly thought long and hard about who she is and what she wants. They gave her flaws like being anxious or depressed that I get to dig into which makes the process that much more fun!

My Favorite Moments From The Show

1. When Ayo first appears on screen, I was immediately struck by her beauty.

2. She has a great sense of comedic timing, which was evident in her interactions with the other characters.

3. I loved the scene where she confronts her father about his drinking problem.

4. I thought the scene where she tells her best friend she’s moving away was very well done.

5. I thought the finale was very well done, and Ayo’s performance in it was outstanding.

6. I loved the scene where she says goodbye to her father.

7. I thought the entire series was excellent, and Ayo Edebiri was a big part of that.

What’s Next?

Ayo Edebiri is an actress, comedian, and writer who you may know from Comedy Central’s Broad City or NBC’s The Good Place. She’s also the voice of Missy on Netflix’s Big Mouth. Ayo grew up in Maryland and now lives in Brooklyn. We sat down with her to talk about her career, what it was like growing up Nigerian-American, and what’s next for her. I’m an actor and I have been acting since I was a little kid. I had done school plays, church plays, shows at my family’s theater in DC–I always wanted to be doing that but then I discovered standup comedy when I was 14 and found this new thing that I could do and that felt very natural for me.

It wasn’t until high school that I realized there were so many other people like me out there that were black. You don’t see them as much because they’re not necessarily as famous but there are plenty of actors and comedians out there that are black and some of them were even coming out of Howard University at the time which made me feel better because then they felt more accessible.

One of my favorite qualities about Stella is that she pushes against society’s expectations on women. Although during the time period she lived in many women were expected to marry, have children, and submit their dreams as secondary objectives, Stella rejects that idea entirely. Instead, she endeavors to pursue a career in politics despite all odds being against her because no women held public office at that time. This focus on perseverance gives me hope for our generation; if you don’t like your situation change it! Don’t accept what someone else tells you should do—take control over your own life!

What college did Edebiri go to?

Then, in 2020, she took over the role of Stella on Big Mouth from Jenny Slate.

How did Jennifer Edebiri get started in comedy?
